The fourth-generation All New Acura MDX debuts with an advanced and improved 3.5-liter direct-injected i-VTEC^®™ V6 engine, teamed for the first time with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 10-speed automatic features faster and smoother shifts than the previous 9-speed automatic, with rapid four-gear downshifts for quick passing power. The available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD^®) system for MDX uses Acura's industry-leading torque-vectoring all-wheel drive technology.

The MDX gives you a 360 view of the space immediately around the car through the navigation display. Guidelines appear in the rear camera view on the display audio to help the driver to navigate in and out of tight spots.

Collision Mitigation Breaking System™ (CMBS™)

To help reduce the likelihood or severity of a frontal impact, the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) uses both a radar system and a high-resolution forward camera to recognize hazards such as and pedestrians and apply some braking if required. CMBS can also provide a tactile warning of a potential head on collision With Forward Collision Warning it can detect a potential head on collision and warn the driver with audible and visual warning.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow(ACC)

To help reduce driver fatigue the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)™ uses a camera that can identify lane divisions and works proactively to keep the vehicle within a detected lane.

Road Departure Mitigation System(RDMS)

In addition to Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation ensures your MDX stays within the lanes by adding steering input and brakes if required and works with just one line on the road.

Rear Cross Traffic Monitor(CTM)

Whether reversing out of a parking space or into a busy street, the MDX has your back. Sensors located near the rear corners of the car can detect approaching vehicles from either side in parking lots, driveways or streets. A visual and audible warning is displayed on the monitor and even shows the direction of detected vehicle, so you can reverse with confidence at all times with your MDX .

It’s not easy to improve something you’ve been mastering for over 15 years, but then again, we’ve never been afraid of a challenge. When we engineered the newest version of Acura’s renowned available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD^®), we knew we had to see it through to its full potential. This torque-vectoring system developed on the racetrack adapts to the driver, allowing for improved manoeuvrability and high-performance handling under almost any conditions.

When it comes to the unavoidable, we’ve thought about that too. Our engineers used advanced 3D crash test simulation software when developing the MDX’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure,12 allowing them to evaluate hundreds more crash tests than was previously possible. ACE is designed to absorb and disperse frontal impact energy more evenly around the vehicle, so less of it transfers to you and your precious cargo. It’s another reason the 2022 MDX is the most advanced SUV we’ve ever created.

The All New Acura MDX debuts with an advanced 3.5-liter direct-injected i-VTEC™ V6 engine rated at 286 HP @ 6200 rpm. And a torque of 355 N-m @ 4700 rpm. The i-VTEC™ (intelligent Variable Valve Timing Control) for the is combined with Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™) maximize fuel efficiency.

DYNAMIC AIR SUSPENSION

Personalize your ride with the Adaptive Air Suspension to meet all your driving needs. From increased comfort when cruising to convenient auto-load leveling while hauling, the dynamic air suspension can lower ride height in Sport modes or raise it with the Lift mode for extra ground clearance.

POWER WITH AGILITY

Feel your adrenaline rush as the twin scroll turbochargers of the MDX Type S 3.0L turbo V-6 engine release 350-HP. Engineered from motorsports DNA, the rear-biased SH-AWD combined with the steering wheel-mounted sport paddle shifters put you in command of the road.
